At Polka Dot Races, we organise events in and locally to Northamptonshire along with virtual events which are fun and inclusive, with the aim to create unforgettable running experiences that challenge, support, and inspire. We make running (and walking!) fun for everyone. Whether you join us in person or virtually, our events are all about staying active, challenging yourself, and enjoying every step—no matter your pace or experience just turn up and have fun.

About Us
Hi! I'm Kerry, founder of Polka Dot Races.
I’ve been running for a number of years, completed numerous 10ks, Half Marathon, Marathon and even an Ultra! Even the odd mud run, most of them as I am sure you can relate have me questioning my life choices but the buzz after is worth it all.
Through all of it, I kept noticing the same thing: the best running events weren’t the biggest or flashiest. They were where people smiled, where the atmosphere felt welcoming, where crossing the finish line mattered more than your chip time.
That’s what I wanted with Polka Dot Races, hosting running events in Northamptonshire and beyond that feel accessible from the moment you sign up. No jargon, no pressure. good routes, solid organisation, and the kind of atmosphere where you’d happily bring a friend who’s never raced before.
I handle most of the planning and organising, but my family pitch in behind the scenes. My sister, husband, and nephew all help make each event run smoothly, I even rope my mum and my aunty in who enjoy turning up on race days to cheer, which we all know gives us all a big lifts (am I the only one that feels invincible when I run past a marshal, only to be secretly fighting to breath and move my legs internally!). Then of course there’s Merlot, our dog and official mascot. He’s brilliant at accepting treats, looking adorable in photos, and providing general moral support. Genuinely better at his job than most of us.
Whether you’re chasing a new PB at a 10k race, tackling your first half marathon event, completing an ultra marathon, or just running with friends, we design running races that work for everyone. The serious runners and the ones who stop for photos. The PB chasers and the costume wearers. All are very welcome.
What to Expect at Our Events
Registration is straightforward, we use the platform Eventrac for entries, and you’ll get clear joining instructions before race day. No mystery, no last minute panic emails.
On the day, expect a friendly welcome from our amazing team most of which are all our lovely volunteers, who are all ready to help and get you going, who will be there all the way with you cheering you on right until you finish, where you will receive the biggest cheer and goodies.
After you finish, we would love you to hang around. The best part of any running event is the chat afterwards when everyone’s comparing notes and sharing stories, its what builds our amazing community, Plus lets not forget Merlot might be there, and he’s very interested in any snacks you might have.
